    People often ask us what 1888 means…or they ask, “Why 1888?”….and so without being too specific and with some help from youtube we present this interesting video about the figure 1888….first time we even heard about the revolving door.

    Hello fellow 1888er!

    Summer Sizzle sticks!…It’s HOT!
    We know we have been typically lacking in the updates, however there is plenty of news to tell you about. First off, Congratulations to Daniel and Shannon on the birth of perfect little boy by the name of Elliot Reed Driskell. We’re glad to have him in the 1888 family and look forward to presenting new songs to him seeking his approval.
    Its all about the 1888LOVE.

    “HONEY, I’D KILL…” picked up by DARLA RECORDS DISTRO!!!

    48 HOUR FILM FESTIVAL WINNERS!! Virginia Beach, Va Chapter

    CRF FILMS, aka Eugene Gozales and Sean Devereaux produced this years winning film for the Va Beach, Va sector of the 48-HOUR FILM FESTIVAL, titled “THE TROUBADOUR”. This is an annual event which is growing in size and has become a national phenomenon. We were lucky enough to take part and submitted our album at length to the cause. And as always the wonderful CLAY GARDEN STUDIO was critical in finishing off the soundtrack with some foley work and some sinister string bits. Lets just say that Cantaloupes and beer bottle breaking was involved. A special thanks to Alex Partow for help putting the bits together.

    The film will now go to national competition and hopefully will win so that we can get a piece of that $7500 grand prize!! Wish us luck.

    Were working to line up a good string of shows very soon so please check back every now and then to see whats up with our silly asses.

    Stay cool…drink lots of water.
    bye bye for now pumpkin plow.

    CHECK OUT THE NEWEST REVIEWS FOR THE ALBUM:
    DAILY PRESS:
    “Honey, I’d Kill …” is one of the most ambitious
    and fully realized rock records ever released by a Hampton Roads
    band. It’s clear that songwriters Brad Rosenberg and Daniel
    Driskell have set their sights on something beyond local acclaim.
    And they have the playing, producing and songwriting chops to
    hit that target." {more}

    SMOTHER ZINE:
    "Really amazing guitar arrangements invigorate
    the steady clear vocals and the roots rock singer/songwriter format
    underneath. Easily a group that will be the next “it” thing to land in
    the hallowed journals of music critiques…this group just owns pop
    hooks like they were well-worn trousers." {more}

    Best wishes from 1888!
    peace.

    You should all have a look at this review. Indeed, most bands will not advertise a bad review of their debut album. But man, this guy is so ridiculously half-witted, I couldn’t resist turning you on to him. It’s clear this guy has no idea what music is or all about and might have some hidden resentment towards it he may have to get help with before it’s too late. And it’s curious that 99.9% of the other bands/artists reviews are wildly torn as well. Oh, except one review where he gives props to an album with cover songs on it. I don’t know, you be the judge.
